Mr. Mitchell's notes:
- nothing more compelling than a great story...hint, hint (coming soon)
- ESPN on earth - the score give on the Gainsville State and Faith Christian along with the story.
- ESPN in heaven - the story about how Faith Christian was "Jesus", no score needed
Question for the staff: what is the most important thing you will take from reading this book?
The most important thing I took away from reading this book is that in the current world that we live, Christian schools are a mighty tool to equip young people to be Christ-followers and leaders in a society where they will unfortuantely be the minority, and that the loving teachers and staff at FMCS truly are making a huge difference for the kingdom every single day! They certainly have in my life, over a decade ago and still today!
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing I took away from this book is that I feel confident that I am applying myself first as a Christian teacher and then as a Spanish teacher. Students go home with "God's message." I know that parents appreciate what their sweet angels are bringing home with them besides homework. They bring "His Word." I feel this alleviates some of the work parents have to do at home. Our teachers are preparing students to go out into the world as disciples and spread that "word," and feel confident about themselves as leaders.
ReplyDeleteAgain, a STORY got me!! We all have a story! When I hear or see the 'back story' for a person, whether it be an athlete, star, pastor, friend or other peer, and that story captures my heart, I am much more likely to be interested in following that person's life, listen to them, and perk up my ears when I hear their name. It works, or they wouldn't showcase those competing in the Olympics this summer. Their story broadens them from just a one-dimentional name to a person with whom I can identify; someone with similar struggles or emotions or background.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the most important thing I will take from this book? I believe this book sums up the value of educating our children in a Christian school, of which I have first-hand knowledge and experience. I do believe and agree with the author regarding the unique advantage of the daily Godly influence, teaching of Biblical principles and Christ's character with skin on within the walls of a Christian school. Here at FMCS, we have had, and still have, all that plus solid and challenging academics mixed with missions minded leadership to produce young people equipped to be salt and light in their next educational setting.
